About Us
Based in South Dunedin, Cargill Enterprises has been supplying quality products, services and support since 1960. At Cargills we employ over 80 people with some level of intellectual disability in our 3 business units, Timberworks, PacMan and Recycling.
Business with Purpose
We specialise in the manufacturing of wood products like pallets, raised gardens, crates, dunnage and presentation boxes. Our services include polystyrene cutting. e-waste decommissioning for recycle, packing items for dispatch including decanting, weighing, labeling, repacking and assembling. But we turn our hand to much much more so feel free to contact us and discuss your business needs.
Cargill Academy
Education Program
As part of our employee’s employment we provide on the job training that includes teaching them skills needed to perform various work tasks, operate machinery, complete workplace paperwork, maintain time management and follow health and safety practices. We have in house assessors for the recognition of NZQA unit standards, so our employees can earn credits to help them obtain qualifications that they may not have had access to or been able to achieve at school.
As a recently registered Tertiary Education Organisation Cargill's offers employees regular training as part of our Cargill Academy Education program. The groups run during paid work hours and are tutored by skilled, contracted educators that make learning an enjoyable and exciting experience for all that choose to participate. This includes health and safety know-how, numeracy and literacy improvement, 101 for computers and learning to navigate the internet.
Our aim is to give all staff improved skills that lead to increased options and freedom in their lives including permanent employment in the open workforce.
Employment at Cargill’s
Cargill Enterprises currently employs over 80 people with some level of a disability. Ages range from school leavers through to retirees. Our employees are asked to apply themselves to the best of their ability and embrace the culture of care, patience and respect common to any good workplace.
All employees have personal development plans and for some, these will include life skills such as using a computer or improving their numeracy and literacy. We offer regular classroom type training programmes run during paid work hours and tutored by skilled, contracted educators to support and upskill our employees.

Cargill Enterprises’ E-Waste department offers you an opportunity to dispose of your electronic waste in an environmentally friendly and ethical way/ We accept all types of electronic waste for recycling.

Cargill Enterprises can pack a wide range of dry goods for you, either manually or by machine.

At Cargill Enterprises we offer a labelling and packaging service. We will label and pack your goods for distribution, storage, sale or end use.

Polystyrene is an ideal packing material and insulator. We can cut your polystyrene to the sizes and shapes you require.

Cargill Enterprises’ main workshop is the hub of our operation. We put together anything from pens to key rings, badges to drink bottles.

Cargill Enterprises will store your stock on premises, plus we will pick, pack and dispatch for you to anywhere in NZ or overseas.

Cargill Enterprises offers a full range if mailout services including invoices and statements in standard DLE letter format and more!

We can cut and sew your fabric to produce pillowcases, sheets, towelling products and even footwear!
